Welcome to Yoga and Embodiment at Heart Stone
Yoga can be a way to slow down, pay attention, and reconnect with yourself. It offers space to explore movement, breath, rest, and the experiences that shape how we feel and move through the world.
At Heart Stone, yoga and embodiment are understood as complementary to the work of therapy. Where therapy offers space to explore our experiences, relationships, and patterns, embodied practices invite us to listen to ourselves in a different way, through sensation, movement, stillness, and the choices we make in each moment. Together, these approaches can support a deeper understanding of ourselves, relationships and our lives.
My approach to teaching is grounded in accessibility, curiosity, and choice. Rather than working toward a particular shape or outcome, we explore what practice can look and feel like for each of us. There is room to move, to rest, to try something different, or simply to notice.
Our session will be
-
Choice-Based
Your practice is your own. Whether we are exploring movement, breath, or rest, there is room to make choices that feel right for you. You are invited to notice your experience, move at your own pace, and engage with the practice in a way that honors your needs.
-
Curious & Compassionate
Rather than working toward a particular shape or outcome, we make space to notice what arises with curiosity and without judgment. Yoga can offer opportunities to explore familiar patterns, connect with your body's experiences, and approach yourself with greater understanding and compassion.
-
Mind-Body Connection
Yoga and embodiment can complement the work of therapy by offering another way to engage with your experiences. Through movement, stillness, and awareness, we can explore how we experience ourselves in the present moment. The invitation is not to fix or change yourself, but to develop a deeper relationship with yourself, on your own terms.
Opportunities to Practice
Yoga in Community
I also teach at Drift & Oak, a welcoming, boutique yoga and movement studio in Medway. My classes draw on the same approach I bring to Heart Stone: accessible movement, curiosity, and room to explore what feels right for you.
Whether we're moving through a flow or taking a slower approach, the invitation is to meet yourself where you are that day. There are options to adapt your practice, opportunities to pause, and no expectation that your practice needs to look a certain way.
If you're looking to practice in a studio setting, I'd love to welcome you to class.

TCTSY is a program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE), and a clinically validated yoga-based intervention for complex trauma and PTSD. CFTE was formally established in 2018 and grew within larger institutions before becoming an independent organization in 2025. That same year, TCTSY was recognized globally as part of the Third Wave of Psychotherapies. This shift reflects a commitment to building an organization that practices what it teaches: healing belongs in more places than therapy rooms, mind & body are not separate, and power dynamics always matter.

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) incorporates familiar elements of yoga but shifts the focus away from alignment, performance, or achieving particular postures and toward personal experience, choice, and agency.
Rather than directing participants into specific shapes, TCTSY uses invitations that encourage individual exploration. There is no right or preferred way to move, no hands-on adjustments, and no expectation to perform or progress. Participants are invited to notice their internal experience and make choices about how, when, and whether to participate.
At its heart, TCTSY is less about how a posture looks and more about the opportunity to develop a relationship with your own experience. You are always in charge of your practice.
